The race is just a week away now and at the moment the weather forecast is looking good for it, however the race will still run if it’s raining. The meeting point is on Mossley Hill Drive, between Greenbank Lane and the bridge, if you look up Mossley Hill Drive on Google maps you will find it but if anyone needs directions or is lost you can get in touch on the Facebook page or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The race will be run in groups, how many people are in each group will depend on how many people turn up and race but there wont be more than 10 people in each group.
Each group will race round the park 3 times going anti clockwise, this way there isn’t really any junctions to negotiate apart from the roundabout just before the bridge.
The winner of each of these groups will then go in to a final, which will be a 1 lap sprint round the park with all the other winners to decide who wins the overall and gets the money.
The race costs £3 to enter, we are not keeping any of this money it will be the prize fund for first second and third place, the more people that turn up the more money there will be. Try and bring the right change as well, if everyone turns up with £20 notes this isn’t going to work.
Its fixed gear only as well that keeps everything fair, gears and freewheels would be a massive advantage round the park.
The Race starts at 6PM
We might have a skid comp afterwards as well if anyone is up for it
There is a good pub just up the road we can go to afterwards for post race pints and pies but there isn’t any shops round the park so if you want snacks or beers for while the race is going on its best to get them first. The nearest shops are on Lark Lane, Smithdown Road or Allerton road depending on which way you are coming from.
If you have any questions about anything get in touch and I will see you all there next Sunday.
